Key improvements ( Or why are you paying that much more):

3-D = Stronger. Folding bikes have a sometimes deserved reputation for flexy frames. All Tern frames feature patented DoubleTruss technology which turns the rear half of the frame into a three dimensional truss so that it’s much more resistant to torsional forces. That equals increased stiffness and much better power transfer from the pedals to the rear wheel.

Beauty Meets Function. The normal TIG welding process for aluminum bicycle frames is done by hand and involves the welder laying down a series of small, overlapping beads covering the two parts to be joined. The better the welder, the more uniform the beads. In the smooth TIG process, the welder makes a “double pass”, laying down a second layer of beads on top of the first. These beads are then sanded down by hand in an intensive process that requires extreme care. Done properly, the frame is strengthened because the possibility of stress risers is reduced. And the result is a very smooth weld joining the two tubes.

Stronger, Stiffer, Better Ride. Flexy handleposts and noodly handling are the Achilles heel of many folding bicycle designs. The Physis handlepost solves this with a massively strong, precision machined design that virtually eliminates flex. Four new patented technologies go into the design. The proof, of course, is in the ride.
  • Massive Strength — To eliminate flex, the Physis Joint knuckle was beefed up and made wider by moving the pivoting surfaces outward from the center axis. Fork steerer interface with the handlepost was increased by 150%.
  • Flux Technology — The base of the Physis is machined so it functions as a zero-flex, zero-play headset top cover. Patented.
  • Interlocking Halves — Unfolded, the joint surfaces lock together to improve torsional stiffness….
Find Your Perfect Fit. The VRO stem from Syntace gives you all-important adjustability so you can fine-tune your riding position for speed or comfort –- whatever your heart desires. The stem is 33 mm long and it’ll go anywhere from -45 degrees to +90 degrees or even backwards if you want to reduce the reach. And it exceeds Syntace’s brutal in-house test procedures for downhill gear. Syntace is a German company renowned for their incredibly light but brutally strong stems and bars. The Syntace VRO handlebar system used on select Tern bikes allows adjustment of handlebar height and reach for perfect rider fit. The system is stiff and strong but incredibly light.

Ultra-light, ultra-tough.  The Syntace P6 is one of the strongest and precisely engineered seatposts on the market. We wanted the best so we worked with Syntace to develop a 580 mm seat post with a variation of their 3D cold-forged P6 clamp. Made from ultra-light 7075 aluminum and hard-anodized (black color option) for scratch resistance. ERS technology delivers loads of fore/aft adjustment for the saddle: you can run the saddle forward for zero offset stiffness, or all the way back like an offset seatpost. Two bolt micro adjust for infinite angle adjustment. Obsessive attention to detail means the bolts are positioned to for easy accessibility with 40 degrees of pivoting range.

What about the Verge X30h? There’s a common misconception among some folks that small wheels equals a slow bike.

One spin on the Verge X30h should change that. This is a bike designed for flat out speed with 30 speeds and a top gear of 121”. Or, you might just want the bike for the way it looks, which we’d also understand. RRP S$3199.00. The first 4 units sold gets S$100 off!
